Each year, five member-elected Board members complete their three-year terms as directors. At its March 2011 meeting the IASD Board of Directors approved the slate of candidates recommended by the Nominating Committee for the five vacancies effective this coming June. From a field of seven candidates, five will be selected by vote of the IASD membership to serve three-year terms.

Additionally, the IASD Board of Directors has approved the slate of members to fill the open vacancies in the IASD officer positions, as recommended by the Nominating Committee. Following is the list of prospective officers who will serve for 2011-2012: President, Robert P. Gongloff; Chair of the Board, Jody Grundy; Vice President, Scott Sparrow; Secretary, Jacquie Lewis; and Treasurer, David L. Kahn.

According to the IASD Bylaws, the Board of Directors may appoint between four and seven members to be directors. At its March meeting, the Board approved the following to be appointed this coming June to fill Board-appointed vacancies: Jean Campbell, Robert P. Gongloff, Robert Hoss, Jacquie Lewis, David L. Kahn (from Minnesota), and David Kahn (from Massachusetts). They will each serve three-year terms.

Selectees (those five with the highest number of votes by the membership) for member-elected director positions will be announced at the General Membership Meeting to be held at the Rolduc conference, Sunday, June 26. The slate of officer nominees will be adopted by the Board at its second conference Board meeting to be held that same day. All officers and directors will assume their positions at the second Board meeting at the conference.

The 2011 Board candidates are as follows:
Laurette Dupuis, MA (Quebec, Canada)	My first venture into a dream community began when a group of young people gathered around Guy Corneau when he returned to Montreal having just graduated from the Jungian Institute in Zurich. We were the original founders of the Montreal Jungian Society. Later in the 80's, George Baylor, Daniel Deslauriers, Diana Ilnicki, and I started "Le Centre d'etude des reves de Montreal." We put on great programs and published a monthly magazine on dreams. I attended my first IASD conference in Charlottesville VA with this very productive and creative team. For the next 20 years, I focused on my career as a Film Producer and Director. By a twist of fate, I went to San Francisco in 2004 to obtain an MA in East-West Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in the Transformation of Consciousness Program and, to my great delight, found myself reunited with Daniel Deslauriers who turned out to be my Program Director. Back in Montreal, I joined Layne Dalfen's team as the Program Chair for the 2008 IASD International Conference. In 2010, I was a member of the committee that organized the highly successful 1st IASD-Quebec Regional Conference. The 2nd IASD-Quebec Regional Conference in 2011 is shaping up to be every bit as successful as the first. My contributions to IASD annual conferences include: "The Four States of Consciousness in the Mandukya Upanishads" (Sonoma, 2007, and in French in Montreal, 2008); "Shamanic Dreams Following the Munay-Ki Rites" (Chicago, 2009). I enjoy working on group projects and can be fairly imaginative and creative. Once ideas start bouncing around the table, you can expect the best to happen.
Willem Fermont, PhD (Nuth, The Netherlands)	All of my life's work has had a global perspective. My careers in paleontology, geology, and chemistry have enabled me to visit over 40 countries and confront the planet's cultural diversity. More than 15 years ago, I became artist and explored different techniques like painting, wood-carving, steelwork, and ceramics. I worked with many friends in collective art projects and installations, combining music, poetry, sculpture, and theatre. To realize these artistic projects, I was co-creator of several art foundations. My vision on the earth's cultural diversity was further shaped during my stay as head of the curators of the National Museum of Ethnology in Leiden. Some years ago, rather than expressing an artist's view of the world, the focus of my interests shifted to the question why people are creative at all, a question at the interface of art and science. This began an exploration of subconscious processes -- especially dreams. So I became member of IASD. Recently I have explored the idea of considering dreams from an evolutionary point of view as a dynamic system, the controlling factors of which can be derived from dream reports. I would like to share and improve these view points with IASD colleagues. At present I am member of the Board of the Dutch Association for the Study of Dreams, and conference manager of the 2011 IASD conference in The Netherlands. As a Director of the IASD Board I hope to contribute to the understanding of the multidimensionality of dreams, assist with the building of the IASD global network, and offer my management skills. My most important aim, however, is to meet tolerant and creative people to cooperate with. I look forward to that.
Jennifer D. Parker, PhD (Bristol, United Kingdom)	I am a senior lecturer working in the Department of Psychology at the University of the West of England, UK. I founded the Dream Research Group at UWE in 2008. I have researched dreams for 17 years, and have been a member of IASD for 16 years. I am always mindful of the personal meaning and significance that dreams have for each dreamer and implement, in all my work, the IASD ethical framework. Subsequently, my research has focused on using qualitative as well as quantitative research methods -- seeing people who take part in my research as "co-researchers" rather than "participants." My second book, Dreams and Nightmares, was published last year in both the UK and US by the Reader's Digest. I saw this as an opportunity to introduce the reader to the breadth and wealth of knowledge held by other members of the association. I spend a lot of time taking part in diverse types of media events and disseminating knowledge in other educational arenas. I have been actively involved in multi-disciplinary research teams including working with artists and film makers. I would like to help support multi-collaborative work where collective knowledge and dreamwork practices exist alongside each other. I hold a passion for bringing artists, scientists, filmmakers, dancers, and therapists together to produce even greater unity and affiliation in IASD. I have been a long standing member of IASD, contributing to both the journal, Dreaming, and the magazine DreamTime. I am fully committed to IASD and would be honored to fulfill a role as one of the Directors of the Board.
Diane Rickards, PhD (Western Canada)	Since becoming a member of IASD approximately 15 years ago, I have attended conferences in Santa Cruz, Montreal, and Chicago. In 2008 I became a Canadian Regional Representative. My association with IASD has been rewarding, with like-minded people in international dialogue creating a nourishing and exciting exchange of ideas, knowledge, and research. I have been journaling my dreams for over 25 years, and as a psychotherapist with a doctoral in transpersonal psychology, dreamwork has been an integral aspect of work with my clients. In addition, I have taught dreamwork, facilitated and hosted dream workshops, and presented internationally on the use of dreams with historical narratives and the Intuitive Inquiry research method. Dreams and artistic expression including published poetry and articles have been part of the journey, as has been the experience of spearheading the building of a dream-conceived archeo-astronomical stone circle/garden in Canada. In 2009 I presented at the European International Transpersonal Association regarding an eight member dream group which I facilitate in session and online. This dream circle is now collaborating toward writing testimonies and completing a film about their long-term shared dreaming experiences in relation to personal transformation and collective wisdom. After a causal dream group in China, I have been corresponding/advising with a director/screenwriter about his upcoming productions, in regard to his dreams and synchronicities. Visiting China has also led to my current focus on dreaming and liminal spaces/sacred ground. Through the years my membership on various boards, committees, and non-profit community groups has included leadership roles. If chosen to be on the Board, my interests would focus on fostering and sustaining IASD collaborative efforts both locally and internationally, and reaching out through travel and cyberspace to build IASD.
Massimo Schinco, PhD (Cervasca, Italy)	I'm a Psychologist, working mainly as a licensed practitioner in Psychotherapy and providing services with supervision to colleagues, pupils, and other professionals of several organizations in the field of social work-- in particular residential services for children. Currently I teach General and Developmental Psychology in the Conservatory G. F. Ghedini, Cuneo, and Systemic Psychotherapy in the Milan Centre of Family Therapy. I'm leading groups of Family Evaluation and Clinics at the University of Pavia, Italy.   As an Author, I've been focusing for years on the subject of creative change, where dreaming plays a very relevant role. I've published two books, most recently, The Composer's Dream: Essays on Dreams, Creativity and Change, 2010, and several chapters of books and papers on the subject. I've also been a presenter at the 2008 and 2010 PsiberDreaming Conferences and the 2010 IASD International Conference in Asheville. In my opinion, a great asset of IASD lies in its peculiar interweaving of many different identities, which is beautiful in principles but not always easy in practice, as usually it happens over a long time period requiring processes of growth. The Association provides a great deal of opportunities for dialogue and exchange. Sharing with the IASD community and learning one from each other have triggered major changes in my views. Presently I see dreaming as the tissue, the fabric itself of our human experience in the frame of the awe-inspiring multidimensional life of consciousness. I see a huge potential of IASD to help people throughout the world to meet, to share, and to learn about that in a spirit of mutual respect and genuineness.
Lauren Z. Schneider, M.A. M.F.T. (Westlake Village, California, USA)	I integrate dream work, family systems, and my innovative method, "Tarotpy" in depth psychotherapy. For twenty years, I have facilitated Dream/Tarotpy Groups for training therapists and laypersons. Articles on "Lucid Living: The Butterfly Effect of Dreams" and "Eco- Dreaming: The Whale's Tale" have been published in DreamTime magazine and the book, Eco-Therapy: Healing with Nature in Mind. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley. My initial training came from sharing dreams in group for ten years; and later studying dream theories and methods; I am certified in Advanced DreamTending and currently training in Embodied Imagination with Robert Bosnak. At IASD, I found a home for my dreamer's soul. I greatly value and cherish this international and sacred dream community where every member is encouraged to contribute an authentic voice to the rich interchange of diverse perspectives. I want to give back to IASD for how it has nurtured and enriched my personal life and professional work. I would be honored to step up my participation in IASD as a board member and contribute to projects already underway such as Dream Activism; increase membership; reach out to academic and medical communities to encourage collaboration with dream researchers, therapists, and artists; and facilitate a Great Dream forum on behalf of community welfare and the evolution of consciousness.
Misa Tsuruta, MA (Tokyo, Japan)	My first IASD conference was in Copenhagen. Since then, I have enjoyed nearly every annual international conference where I have been happy to be part of the audience as well as a presenter. The topics of my past presentations include: Dreaming Tradition in Japanese Culture, Dance/movement and Dreaming, Dream Sharing, and Pregnancy Dreams. I have volunteered and been involved in committees, such as the Education Committee and Research Committee. My articles are (to be) published in DreamTime and The Encyclopedia of Sleep and Dream. Outside of IASD I am in a PhD program in Cognitive, Social, and Developmental Psychology at the Department of Psychology of the New School for Social Research. I work as a counselor at Rinsho Academy, maintain a small private practice in Tokyo, and teach a dance class at a "culture school" in Tokyo. For more than ten years I have kept a dream journal. At this time of crisis in Japan I plan to use art in working with children affected by the earthquakes and tsunamis. My current focus is to establish a Japanese chapter of IASD and to develop a network of dreamers in Asia. I believe it would also be beneficial to foster increased interactions between Japanese/Asian dreamers and IASD so that both sides understand each other's culture and dreams.
