Project
Description: If you have had any dreams about a political
candidate or about the 2000 election campaign itself, I would be interested
in hearing about them. I'm also interested in hearing any past dreams
you might have had about politicians (such as Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich,
Ronald Reagan) and politically-charged issues (such as abortion rights,
gun control, taxes, etc.). It would be helpful if you could please tell
me your age, gender, political affiliation, and your own ideas about where
your dream came from. This project is a continuation of research I have
been doing since 1992 on people's dreams of politics and politicians.
While many dream researchers have theorized that the meanings of dreams
relate to exclusively personal concerns, my project is exploring the relevance
of dreams to people's communal life--specifically, their political beliefs,
attitudes, and practices (e.g., party registration, voting patterns).
