CONFERENCE FEES

Note:  To join IASD or renew your membership in order to take advantage of discounted member fees CLICK HERE. Membership rates are listed later on this page as a reference.

FULL CONFERENCE FEE

The conference is held from the evening of Friday, June 22 through the evening of Tuesday, June 26, 2012. The full conference fee includes conference presentations, receptions, participation in the Dream Telepathy contest and the Dream Ball. Excluded are lodging and meals which are the responsibility of the attendee.

Note:  Approved presenters must register before 1 April 2012 to remain on the program; refundable if paid early and presentation is not accepted.

Volunteer Fee:   BEFORE registering and paying this volunteer fee you MUST APPLY and BE APPROVED FOR A VOLUNTEER POSITION. Go to the Submit Your menu at the top then click on Volunteer Application and complete and submit it. AFTER you are approved as a volunteer THEN register here. If you are not approved and are placed on the wait list you may wait until you are notified of your status after 1 April to register and will be given the opportunity to register at the early bird discount rate of volunteer rate depending on whether a position is available. This Volunteer Fee is in lieu of the above conference fees for pre-approved volunteers; $100 of the $150 charge will be refunded on-site once all assigned duties have been completed. All volunteers who have received a confirmation MUST pay this fee by 1 April in order to register and will be removed from the roster after that date. Those on the waiting list who do pay the Early or Regular registration fee will be reimbursed the difference if they are later accepted. NO REFUNDS will be given AFTER 1 APRIL or if the volunteer does not arrive to perform their duties. Volunteers must pre-reserve and pay for Housing and Meals (see sections below). .

Special Fee Arrangement: if you have been approved for a special fee arrangement that is not specified here (Keynote, Featured Presenter, Scholarship, Press, Other) you will be requested to note this in the Comments box provided on the on-line or mail-in forms.


FOOD OPTIONS

Luncheon Buffet Package

The luncheon buffet package includes lunch for the 4 main days of the conference (Saturday – Tuesday) and is highly recommended for convenience and conserving time during the lunch break and generally joining with others in a beautiful waterfront setting. Buffet includes meat and vegetarian selections.  A single day registrant option is also available.  (Note: we regret that NO luncheon buffet reservations can be made after 15 June).  There are 3 local restaurants around the marina within walking distance and a large number in Berkeley. Sunset Cruise and Dessert Buffet

On Monday evening 25 June, we will be offering two hour sunset cruise of the San Francisco Bay on the HMS Hornblower.  It includes a dessert buffet featuring Chocolate Fondue served from a fountain with Mini Cream Puffs, Marshmallows, Oreo Cookies, Graham Crackers, Pretzels, Fresh Seasonal Melon, Shortbread and Whole Strawberries.

Box Dinner for Dream Hike

On Sunday 24 June, at around 5:15  25 June, there will be a dream hike along the East shore of the San Francisco Bay to art displays placed along the shore by local artists. Box meals will be made available for $20 (tax included) but must be ordered 24 hrs ahead (by 3PM Saturday) at the IASD Registration Desk.  These are sandwich meals which will include a Choice of Ham, Turkey, OR Roasted Tomato with Basil, Pesto Dressing and Mozzarella Cheese on French Bread, a Piece of Seasonal Whole Fresh Fruit, Pasta Salad and a DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookie. Please make your selection and payment at the registration desk when you arrive (ask for the Box Meal signup sheet).

CE (CONTINUING EDUCATION)

CE Credits are provided by IASD. IASD is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IASD maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

DREAM ART EXHIBITION

The 2012 IASD conference will again have a Juried Dream Art Exhibition that invites local artists as well as artists who attend the conference from around the world to participate.  For the 7th year there will be monetary juried art awards.  The Doubletree conference center is equipped with a spacious bright room for the exhibition that can accommodate 2D art works as well as 3D sculptures and installations.  Artists are encouraged to present artwork using unconventional techniques to represent their night dreams. A Call To Artists will go out late 2011.. Check the conference web site regularly for updates. All submissions will require a $35 non-refundable entree fee payable on a separate online form at the time of submission.  NOTE- for artists registered for the conference the submission fee is waived. If you register early for the conference and your art is not accepted, and you notify us before 1 April that you no longer wish to attend, you will receive a refund less submission fee.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds are subject to transaction fees and for conference fee refunds will be subject to a $100 processing fee. Due to date dependent contractual and scheduling obligations, NO REFUNDS ARE OFFERED AFTER 1 JUNE for any registrant, nor after 1 APRIL for those accepted as part of the event (Volunteers and Approved Presenters). All cancellations or refunds for room and or meal reservations made with the Hotel are subject to hotel policies and must be resolved directly with the Hotel.

Discounted Rooms at the Conference Site - Doubletree Berkeley Marina Hotel

Rooms must be booked directly with the Hotel by contacting them at 510-548-7920 or 800-559-4655 for National Reservations and requesting the IASD conference discount group code IAD or referring to the group code International Association for the Study of Dreams. The Doubletree accepts most major charge cards. Note that due to the early demand the initial discounted block is sold out but the hotel has extended the block by another 40 rooms at a discounted rate of $139 which is still much less than standard rates, and less than available through most discounters or other hotels in the area during this peak season. Because that block is also limited we highly recommend you book right away.

Discounted Rooms off Site – Hilton Garden Inn

For those who have transportation or wish to take a short cab ride, we have reserved a limited block of 30 discounted rooms at the Hilton which is 2.6 miles down the access road along the same shore as the Doubletree at a $119 per night rate. Please book your room directly with the hotel and check on any reservation details by contacting them at (510) 658-9300 and asking for the IASD or International Association for the Study of Dreams discounted block rate (or group code SOD). The location information is: Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge; 1800 Powell Street ; Emeryville, California 94608. Note that the Hilton has some requirements which differ from the Doubletree. Reservations must be made prior to 23 May 2012 (assuming the available block lasts that long) at which time any bookings will be on a space available basis. Reservations on either side of 22 – 26 June will be space available as well. Note that there will be a $50 fee for early check-out unless you advise the hotel before you check-in. A credit card number or 1 nights advance deposit will be required to secure a room out of this block. Cancellations must be received 24 hours prior to arrival or 1 night room and tax will be assessed.

Other Lodging options: a) book at the Doubletree through a discount company (booking.com, expedia.com etc.) where some non-refundable rates may be competitive; b) book at other local hotels which can be best found through these same discounters. Our Travel/Venue > Local Hotels/Restaurants page contains a map showing various local hotel and restaurant locations within about a 3 mile radius. Also if you book at the Doubletree through another discount company, please let us know, it will help us with room block negotiations in the future.

Roommates: Neither IASD nor the hotel will assign roommates so please arrange these prior to making your reservation. To connect with potential roommates you may go to the IASD Bulletin Board http://tinyurl.com/iasdposting If you plan for a roommate the Doubletree has double bed options and a rate for adding another rollaway bed to the room, so ask when you make your reservation. Multiple occupancy rooms must be billed to a single individual so arrange this with roommates ahead of time and tell the hotel of your arrangement.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation from nearby Airports should be arranged on your own. San Francisco International (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) Airports are about 40 minutes and 20 minutes driving time respectively (depending on traffic).  Click here for a web page that explains the options along with contact numbers.

If you can’t attend every session you would like - don’t worry! Conference Recording Service (CRS) will audio record most every presentation, seminar and panel event for you. We cannot record workshops and dreamgroups for privacy reasons nor special artistic events but should be able to provide a fairly full conference experience (approximately 40 sessions) on CD for you. You can purchase individual 75 minute CDs at or after the conference for $15 or the complete conference recording for $79.
