This is an open invitation to ALL dreamers who will be attending the Asheville 2010 IASD conference....
The Art exhibition committee has enthusiastically accepted my proposal for a COLLABORATIVE work to be titled:
"ALTARED" STATES: CONVOCATION OF DREAMS
In
order to celebrate this years theme,
“Bringing Dreams and Community Together.”
I have conceived an artwork that would bring us all together as dream artists.
I am inviting each and every participant in this year's conference to bring an object (between 1" - 3" approx) that represents an image, a mood, an emotion, a setting or a memory from a dream.
There will be a guest book in which you will be invited to write your name, the title of your dream, and the name of the image that your "object" represents. You will be invited to place your object at any time during the Art show exhibit hours -
June 28--30 in the Ballroom Gallery at the Crowne Plaza Resort
There will be a reception for all artists, family and friends as well as conference attendees in the gallery on Tuesday, June 29, from 9:00–10:30 PM.
This is an exercise in metaphor and symbolism, so don't try to be too literal in the object that you contribute.
Be on the lookout for found objects like :
shells, bones, driftwood, bottle caps, coins, nails, dolls' eyes, cabinet knobs, dice, costume jewelry, mirror shards, children's toys etc.
If your contribution is a precious keepsake, please keep in mind that you will be responsible for collecting it on the last day of the exhibit.
