Dear Networker,

So far, in preparation for the "Earth Dreaming" Conference in Chicago, you've given IASD help with two email, sending them out to your friends, and sending them out to your lists. The work you've been doing has been showing too, in both memberships and conference registrations.

When we began, I said we would send out a final email in May. Not everyone sends these emails immediately, and that's fine. But this final email should be sent out no later than the end of May.

This time we're going to ask you to do something a little different.

I'd like to show you the e-mail Sheila Asato sent out, using the conference press release found on the 2009 PR page. Take a look at this: http://www.asdreams.org/2009/email/4-28-09/

Sheila also sent the following note:

I assume you all know about this service, but it was new to me so I'm passing it along:
http://www.mondotimes.com/1/world/us/23/1347

If you don't know about it, this could be useful to pass on to all the dedicated volunteers who are willing to spread information about IASD to their local communities. Just make sure there isn't any overlap in an area so they are getting the same information repeatedly from IASD members. I'll use my list to pass all press releases you forward to me, in addition to sending the information out to my own mailing list. Teaching volunteers around the world how to get a press release out to the media in their area will help cultivate savvy marketing committee volunteers for the future:-)

A friend of mind in marketing recommended it to me for finding out all the updated information on who to send press releases to locally. There is a small fee for the service, but I think it's very worthwhile. It saved me a lot of time and we already got one listing, that I passed on yesterday, from using this service.

Sheila, as you may have noticed, is pretty savvy about marketing...and enjoys sharing information about it.

But here's what I am going to suggest to you. Liz is creating an email with the press release information. Just like the first two emails in this series, you can simply forward this one to your mailing list, if that's what you prefer to do. For those of you who would like to follow Sheila's example, and personalize your version, there will be an html version in the PR section of www.asdreams.org/2009  that you can either cut and paste into an email to send as it is, or personalize in your own manner.

If you feel motivated to send the press release to your local newspapers, television stations and radio stations, that would be great. Follow Sheila's suggestions, make a list of your local media, and send away.

There is only one caveat in this. If you receive a media response, and do not feel comfortable speaking for IASD, please send the request to the IASD office at office@asdreams.org and Richard will send it on to Wendy Pannier or myself for a response.

Remember, all of the things you need to send all three of the emails in this campaign are available on the conference web site in the PR section, and it is still not to late to have your logo put up on the Conference Sponsor Page (which is growing more beautiful by the day). Send your logo to Liz Diaz at dreamingtbd@aol.com or send her a note if you need some assistance.

Thank you so much. And see you in Chicago!

Jean
