Thank you so much for your willingness to participate in an e-mail advertising campaign for the IASD 2009 Earth Dreaming Conference. I'm excited because I am sending this letter out to eighty IASD members--yes, count them, eighty!--who have agreed to participate. That says a lot of people are going to be hearing about the conference this year, and it also says how much you care about IASD.

Sending the E-Mails

What we will be asking you to do is three things. The first is to send an e-mail to your list as soon as you can (the e-mail we are sending you today). If you are willing, and there are people on your list who would be interested, we would like to send another e-mail in mid-March, this one about the conference art show, with deadlines for entry; and then, in late April we would like for you to send a follow up on the invitation to the conference. These three e-mails could mean a significant growth in this year's conference attendance and participation.

You asked for the e-mail information to be sent to you in a variety of ways, so here is what we will do. Immediately following this e-mail, you will receive another e-mail. That one will be a graphic version of the first email, which you can forward directly to your email list if that's your preference.

Some of you create your own newsletters though, or prefer to compose your own accompanying message. If that's your preference, we have the email in four different formats on the conference PR page at www.asdreams.org/2009/idx_media.htm

These formats include: 1) a screen shot of the e-mail that you can simply cut and paste into your own email program and send out with a note 2) the component parts of the email graphics so that you can use them in your newsletter and 3) a text file if you want to send text only and 4) a PDF file that you can download and attach to an email you send out.

If you're not into just forwarding the email we send you, go to the web page above, pick the format that is easiest for you to deal with. And send it with our gratitude.

One More Question, Please

Because the response to this idea of an e-mail campaign was so great, it would be very helpful to have an idea of how many people we might be reaching. Would you do a quick click to respond to this email and tell me how many people you estimate you'll be sending to? Some people have told me they have lists of well over 1,000 and some have said they'd be mailing to fewer than 100. Every single email you send counts though, because we're doing it together.

What You Receive in Return

Your work with this E-Mail Campaign makes you a Conference Sponsor. We will put your organization's logo or a banner ad on the 2009 Conference Sponsor Page at www.asdreams.org/2009/idx_sponsors.htm  You can take a look right now at some of the Conference Sponsors already up on the page as a sample, with logos and banners we have used in the past.

Here's what you need to do to get your logo or banner placed. Send the file with the logo or banner as an email attachment to Liz Diaz, the artist who is responsible for 2009 conference web design, at dreamingtbd@aol.com  with the subject line "For 09 Sponsor Page."

Optimal dimensions for a graphic banner (to be used as general guidelines)
288 x 183 pixels (rectangular) or
432 x 93 pixels (long, narrow banner)

Acceptable file formats: .jpg, .gif, .tif

Be sure to include your name and URL (www address) you want linked to the graphic.

Don't have a web site or logo, but would like some recognition as part of this campaign? Send your name, site name and www address and we can list it on the Sponsor Page.

Please be patient with us during this process. Since I never dreamed we would have such a huge response to this campaign, we may be a little slower than originally anticipated. But with your assistance, we will most surely get there!

Thanks so much!
