the International Association for the Study of Dreams

23rd Annual International Conference: Dreams Building Bridges June 20-24, 2006

 

Boston, MA – How do dreams help to bridge waking and sleeping reality?  What are our nightmares trying to tell us? Can dreams really come true? What can we learn from the dream practices of other cultures?  How do writers and film makers use their dreams?  What can we learn from the dreams of the young and the old?

 

The answers to these questions along with the latest discoveries on dreaming will be presented on June 20-24, 2006 at the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) 23rd Annual International Conference.  Over 125 events including presentations by many of the world’s foremost dream researchers, authors and clinicians will take place at Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, MA.

 

Featured Speakers/Events include: Montague Ullman, PhD (a co-founder of modern Dreamwork); Michael Conforti, PhD ( Jungian analyst and researcher); Orson Scott Card (renowned Science Fiction writer);  a visit to an ancient archaeoastronomical site; a dream telepathy contest; a dream costume ball; live performances and entertainment.

The International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), founded in 1984, is a non-profit, international, multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the pure and applied investigation of dreams and dreaming.  It is the only organization of its kind in the world.  Its purposes are to:

Ø      promote an awareness and appreciation of dreams in both professional and public arenas

Ø      encourage research into the nature, function, and significance of dreaming

Ø      advance the application of the study of dreams to provide a forum for the eclectic and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and information

 

IASD is open to anyone who is interested in dreams.  Its international membership has representatives from 30 countries.  Members of IASD come from a broad range of backgrounds, including clinical practice, academic research, laboratory experimentation, classroom teaching, group dream work, artistic and literary creativity, and personal study.
